Maintenance Assistant

As a Maintenance Support at Ashlynn Grange Care Home, you will play a vital role in keeping our home safe, well-presented and welcoming for residents, colleagues and visitors. From carrying out essential checks to completing repairs, you’ll help ensure our high standards of safety and comfort are maintained every day.

About Ashlynn Grange Care Home: 
Ashlynn Grange is an exceptional 153-bed care home in Peterborough. The home prides itself on the surrounding gardens that grow flowers and a variety of different vegetables. 

The level of care at Ashlynn Grange is exceptional, and all staff love to keep residents entertained with a full programme of activities and live performances on our outdoor stage. Our newly refurbished café is available to our residents and their visitors, serving a variety of fresh tea, coffee and cakes daily.  

About the role: 
Working alongside the Maintenance Operative, the Maintenance Support will help ensure the home is safe, secure and well maintained. You’ll support with day-to-day repairs, compliance checks and ongoing upkeep, while collaborating with the wider team to maintain an environment where residents can feel comfortable and at ease. 

Salary: 
£12.21 per hour. 

Shift Pattern: 
35 hours per week, worked on a rota basis from Monday to Sunday.

Home Location: 
Bretton Gate, Peterborough, PE3 9UZ. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Ensuring the home is decorated and maintained to the highest standard, addressing snagging issues promptly.
• Carrying out minor repairs and plumbing tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
• Managing the refuse area and ensuring the safe removal of clinical waste and rubbish.
• Maintaining and repairing electrical equipment and boiler systems as required.
• Completing weekly, monthly and annual checks and tests on equipment and systems to ensure compliance and safety.

Training, Skills & Experience Required: 

• Previous experience in a maintenance role is essential.
• Competent in using Microsoft Office packages.
• Strong written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
